My apologies to you all. Since finding out our Air Force assignment, I've been sent for a loop. Although Biloxi was on our list, the news was quite unexpected. Anyway....here's the abbreviated update on the past month.
Mia continued to learn new ways to help around the house. She now insists on helping us unpack the groceries. We sure do hope that this is a permanent trend with her!
Ava finally mastered the art of pedaling her tricycle and enjoys riding all on her own. Mia also decided to try her "foot" at pedaling the tricycle, but hasn't got the concept just yet.
We have been enjoying our sporadic bouts of spring weather playing outside with the girls. Here are some pictures of an afternoon at the local elementary school playground.
During Ava's Spring Break, we took a family trip to Alabama to visit all of the grandparents, uncles, great grandparents.
Uncles Christopher & Clay (my brothers) took special time out of their schedule to visit with the girls. We also had a brief, but wonderful incounter with Aunt Lara (Peter's sister).
Peter was able to relax and do a little fishing. Ava was a bit unsure about the "slippery" fish. Mia was unphased and touched the fish. It is quite possible that the highlight of Peter's trip was when he finally caught "the BIG one".
The girls had a lot of fun taking baths in Nonnie's claw-footed tub & I got some really cute pictures!

We made a trip to the Hunstville Botanical Gardens for The Big Bug Exhibit. Grandpop, Nana Jan & Mark met us there for a visit too. Ava & Mark had a big time running around looking at all of the giant wooden bugs and Mia spent most of her time trying to keep up.

Since Nonnie & Poppa don't have enough animals on their farm (they only have 3 horses, a donkey, five dogs, a ton of goats, two roosters and lot of hens...not many at all!), we decided to take the girls out to Old McDonald's Petting Zoo. Uncle Christopher drove out to meet us there since he had the morning off. We had a nice time feeding the anmials and visting.

On Friday, we had a "girls day" with MiMi, GiGi and Aunt Janet. We had a fun lunch at Panera Bread, went to the pet store and the girls got to play in the super cool log cabin playhouse in the backyard of Aunt Janet & Uncle Tommy's new house.

On the last day of our trip, the Stignani family drove up from Birmingham for a day on the farm. It was so nice to catch up with them and to see our kids play together.

You guys are now officially caught up on month of March. We've been super busy this month getting our house ready to list. I have cleaned out and donated more than would fit in my minivan with the seats down! Who knew we could accumulate so many things in the five years we have been here. Well, I have more prep-work to do before the realtor comes on Thursday. So, I will leave you with a few of my favorite "artistic" photos from the Botanical gardens & I promise to do a better job of updating the blog.

Sounds like a very exciting March and a very busy April!
Good luck with the move. I wish I could be there to help out... or at least offer my unsolicited advice :-)
