Smarty pants....

I am quite certian that I have the smartest children EVER! That being said, I am also very aware that ALL parents think this about their children. Either way, I am amazed by the "conversations" that I can carry on with my almost 17 month old, Mia.

The other day, Mia woke up from her nap and I heard her in her room counting to EIGHT. OK...I will admit that she was combining the numbers two and three into twoee, but other than that she was getting all of the numbers correct. Of course, I ran to grab the camera so that I could catch this on tape, but she had stopped when I got there. Apparently, Mia doesn't like to perform for the camera, but I did capture some pretty cute conversation between the two of us. So, I decided to share it with you guys.

Mini-me...not really

Lately, I have been getting a lot of comments from people telling me that Ava looks just like me. I don't see it. She looks nothing like I did at her age. I do however, think that my sweet A is awfully cute and is growing up so, so, so fast!

Eleven hours, fifteen minutes....

Eleven hours, fifteen minutes....That is how long it takes one mommy to drive a mini-van from our house in TX to my grandmother's house in AL with two little girls under the age of 3.5! We did it though....The girls and I made a trip to AL to visit with family after Christmas and to ring in the New Year. Peter stayed behind to "bring home the bacon" and take care of Jake (our dog).

We had a wonderful time visiting with everyone. Ava and Mia got to meet and spend a couple of days their cousin, Samantha, who is four and lives in NC. Sam and Ava really had a big time together. It is too bad that they don't get to see each other more often. We also got to spend some time with the animals on Nonnie and Poppa's farm. I of course got some wonderful pictures that I have to share with you all. Hope that you enjoy them!

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

We had a wonderful time celebrating the birth of Jesus and the joy of sharing gifts with one another this Christmas. We opened gifts, sang Happy Birthday to Jesus and had a wonderful Christmas feast. As, promised here are more pictures from Christmas morning:
